EXPERIENCE THE FREEDOM OF LIVING

radically expressed, celebrated, and liberated

Who we are

Women Who Roar is A global community of women supporting and celebrating one another in courageous expression and authenticity.

MEET WHITNEY TOUGAS, OUR FOUNDER

Women Who Roar was born from a shared need

Whitney is a lifelong dancer, a speech, language, and voice therapist with a Masters from NYU, and has studied tantra, sensuality, energetics, and embodiment modalities for nearly two decades. Expression and connection are her lifeblood.

She is passionate about creating transformational experiences in which women are invited to embrace every part of themselves—including the parts they’ve hidden out of fear of being “too much.” Her work in facilitating Women Who Roar ceremonies and as a coach for women empowers them to show up more fully in their lives, relationships, and communities.

“The legacy I envision Women Who Roar leaving is one of liberation and connection–connection to self, connection to one another, connection to the energy that unites us all.”

OUR ORIGIN

Women Who Roar began as a one-time collaboration between Whitney Tougas and Liz Demarko in February 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia from their own needs: Liz craved a space to fully express without reservation the big feelings she’d been shamed into shushing all her life, and Whitney longed to feel safe in her body and free to wear whatever she wanted–including nothing if she felt like it–without fear of judgement, shame, or violation. Named in honor of the Leo full moon under which the first 13 women gathered in ceremony that night, Women Who Roar was born and became something undeniably bigger than a one time collaboration. Women Who Roar has since welcomed hundreds more women in ceremony and become a global movement dedicated to liberating women in expression, embodiment, and sisterhood. We can’t wait to roar with you too.
